GEORGIA BOOT PRODUCT INFORMATION
Don't be jealous because Woo Daves, the 2000 BASS Masters Classicョ Champion,
makes a living fishing. Be glad. It helped him design the perfect line
of shoes for fishing and boating. Ones with fast-dry, rot-resistant
materials, waterproof leather, and slip-resistant soles. They're stylish
and comfortable, too. Woo fished long and hard to make sure of that.
But hey, that's his job.
COMFORT CORE
In 1991, Georgia startled the footwear industry with its unique Comfort
Coreョ technology. Today, it's still a major key to the comfort of
our workboots. Comfort Coreョ features specially-designed energy-return
cushioned insoles that actually store energy when the weight of your
foot compresses them, then releases that energy as you lift your foot.
An airflow system has been developed and included in the Comfort Core
Insoleョ that is used with Georgia Boot's Suspension System Footwear.
This adds dozens of tiny air holes that force air through the insole
as you walk. So your feet stay cooler and drier longer. Cushion insole
with the Comfort Coreョ airflow system. Georgia Boot's exclusive Comfort
Coreョ energy-return cushion insole developed in 1991.
GORE-TEX
Gore-Texョ uses a patented bootie consisting of a membrane which has
tiny pores that keep water molecules out, but allow water vapor to
escape from around the foot. Thus, Gore-Texョ boots are water-proof,
but they also breathe, which keeps feet dry and warm. The Gore-Texョ
company is very careful in protecting the reputation of its material.
Every Gore-Texョ bootie is tested in a high pressure tank for waterproofness.
Also, the company subjects its licensees' products to extensive testing
to ensure the membrane is being used properly. Gore-Texョ products
carry the tag "Guaranteed to Keep You Dry." This warranty is taken
so seriously that the company withholds use of its membrane and its
name from any company which fails to live up to its rigid manufacturing
standards.
Our boots that are designated waterproof are manufactured to rigid
specifications to assure that the environment your feet live in is
comfortable and dry. Our waterproof products are available in a range
of waterproof levels. For damp or wet conditions where the foot is
not submerged for periods of time, look for a product that is made
with waterproof leathers and a direct attached sole. For conditions
where the foot may be submerged, only a Gore-Texョ inner-bootie constructed
boot will offer full waterproof protection for longer periods of time.
No one wants their feet to get cold. But for some outdoor enthusiasts,
keeping feet warm is a matter of survival. For them, there is the
Thinsulate TM Ultra Insulation designation. To acquire this certification
and to display the special tag, there must be a minimum of 400 grams
of Thinsulate TM Insulation throughout the boot. In addition, the
boot must be insulated in the toe, vamp, heel and all the way over
the ankle. Now when you buy a boot carrying the Thinsulate TM Ultra
Insulation tag, you can expect not only the warmest insulation, but
the best construction on the market.
SPR Leather
SPR leather is tanned by three separate processes for extra stength
and resistance. It's been proven in test to be three times stronger,
two and half times more abrasive resistant, and more acid and chemical
resistant than conventional tanned leather. As a result, SPR leather
resists caustic alkali, sulphuric acid, calcium hydroxide, potassium
phosphate, caustic potash and barnyard acids.
Suspension System
The engineering advances of our SUSPENSION SYSTEM outsole and midsole
design flatten the hazards of walking or standing on uneven surfaces.
Dual density SUSPENSION SYSTEM outsoles contain a core of softer,
lighter polyurethane to add bounce and power to your stride while
the outside is tougher and denser for longwearing stability and
support. The suspension design permits each lug to operate independently,
stabilizing your footing and smoothing out your stride. Tiny grooves
at the lug base work like air springs to absorb and disperse shock,
then spring back into position.
Steel Toe
Our uniquely designed cap provides added room and maximum protection.
Independent testing has proven that our steel toe footwear withstands
over 5000 lbs. of static pressure - more than twice the ANSI standard.
Electrical Hazard
Footwear with this symbol is built with nail-free construction using
steel or composition toe caps to help insulate you from the ground
and retard conduction, but is not to be primary protection against
electric shock. Georgia Boot meets and exceeds ANSI Z41, Section
4 standards. Refer to the ANSI Z41 Standard for EH Protective Limits.
What Do Those ANSI Numbers Mean?
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sets the standards
for protective footwear. There are two basic requirements all
safety footwear must meet: impact and compression. There are three
classifications of each according to test results. 1/75, 1/50
and 1/30 are designations for test results done with a 50 pound
weight dropped from a set height. C/75, C/50 and C/30 are designations
of tests done compressing the safety toes at 2,500 pounds (for
C/75), 1,750 pounds (C/50) and 1,000 pounds (C/30). The toe must
have a minimum clearance inside the toe area of the shoe of 16/32"
for men's footwear and 15/32" for women's footwear after the tests
are completed. Gerogia Boot meets all ANSI standards set by OSHA
and comply with "ANSI Z41.1 - 1991: American National Standards
for Personal Protection Footwear".
